We recognise that coming into hospital, especially for the first time can be an unfamiliar and sometimes daunting experience for some people, so our aim is to make your stay at George's Memorial Medical Centre as easy, relaxed and comfortable as possible.
On arrival at George's please report at the main reception desk. A member of our nursing staff will meet you, escort you to your room and explain our facilities for your comfort and care. Our admitting personnel will visit you in your room and ask some questions to enable us care for you with better understanding.
If possible, please arrange for friends or family to bring you to the hospital as we generally advise against driving. However there are parking spaces available should you decide to drive yourself.
As a booked in-patient of George's it is necessary to complete our registration forms and admission agreement. It is also necessary to provide confirmation of how you intend to pay your hospital bills.
If you are a corporate patient a referral from your company will suffice.
What to bring with you
As a patient of George's we provide some items for your personal comfort including towels and bathing soap. However, you will need to bring the following personal belongings with you:Nightclothes, Dressing gown, Slippers, Face flannel, Toothbrush and toothpaste, Personal toiletries.
For maternity patients
We provide everything you will need during your hospital stay for your baby, sanitary products are also provided for mothers. You will need to bring clothing to take your baby home in and a fitted car seat is also essential.
We advise you not keep valuables or an excessive amount of money with you during your stay. The hospital cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage to your valuables.
Medicines from home
You may need to bring tablets or medicines with you from home. If this is the case please show them to the nursing staff and any of our Doctors on duty on arrival in the hospital.
Please note! Smoking is not permitted anywhere within the Hospital or its grounds.
